Oasis House – Showcasing Wemel Wood in Estonia’s First Housing Fair

Architect: Tomomi Hayashi (Japan)

Builder: Nostra OÜ

Event: Estonia’s First Housing Fair – Elamumess

Project Type: Fully finished, furnished, and move-in ready show home

When Estonia hosted its very first Housing Fair (Elamumess), the spotlight naturally fell on innovative design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. One of the most remarkable homes at the event was the Oasis House, designed by renowned Japanese architect Tomomi Hayashi and built by Nostra OÜ.

This project was not just a showpiece – it was a fully completed, move-in ready home, carefully curated to demonstrate high-quality materials, timeless aesthetics, and thoughtful interior design.

Wemel Wood’s Signature Touch

Every detail in the Oasis House was selected to complement the architect’s vision. Wemel Wood contributed thermo-brown switch covers, socket covers, and frames, which were seamlessly integrated throughout the entire home. The deep, warm tones of the thermo-treated wood provided a natural, elegant contrast to the contemporary architectural lines, while maintaining a cohesive, harmonious look in every room.

Our products were not merely functional accessories – they became integral design elements, adding texture, warmth, and a tactile connection to the natural world.

High Visitor Impact

According to Urmo Kaasik, CEO of Nostra OÜ,

“Wemel Wood’s products were among the most talked-about details at the fair. Visitors were drawn to their quality, feel, and the way they elevated the overall interior.”

This high level of interest confirmed what we already knew: beautifully crafted wooden switches and sockets are a detail that people notice – and remember. Our warm brown tones complemented a wide variety of natural materials, minimalist interiors, and modern Scandinavian or Japanese-inspired design that was already used in the house.

Key Takeaways

  • Architectural integration: Our covers and frames were chosen to enhance a world-class architectural concept.
  • Design impact: Natural wood details can transform everyday objects into design statements.
  • Durability: Thermo-treated wood ensures longevity and consistent beauty.

In the Oasis House, every detail mattered – and Wemel Wood’s switch covers and socket frames proved that even the smallest design choices can make the biggest impression.
